BREAKING NEWS: troops Swing into action and rescue over 170 kidnapped female students, govt releases photos

According to the commissioner for internal security and home affairs in Kaduna, Samuel Aruwan, 172 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka in Igabi local government area of the state have been rescued.

Aruwan, on his Facebook page on Friday, March 12, said that the rescue operation was carried out by troops of the Nigerian Army.

The commissioner revealed that 130 male students, 42 female students, and eight staff members were set free from the kidnappers’ den.

Aruwan said:

“The troops successfully rescued 180 citizens; 42 female students, eight staff and 130 male students. However, about 30 students, a mix of males and females, are yet to be accounted for.
“Some of the rescued students were injured and presently receiving medical attention at a military facility.
“Pictures of some of the rescued persons, and the broken perimeter fence, are attached to this update.
