Lanre Tejuoso a former Senator, Reacts to the Appointment by President Buhari

A former senator, Lanre Tejuoso, has said he is excited about his appointment by President Buhari as the pro-chancellor/chairman of the governing council at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

The politician lanre tejuosho in a Facebook post said he looks forward to working with all stakeholders on the UNILAG governing council.

He said:

”Yesterday, news filtered in about my appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Pro Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council at the prestigious University of Lagos.

Since it’s founding in 1962, UNILAG has remained one of the most remarkable tertiary institutions in Africa and rightly ranked among the top universities in the world in major education publications.

I am excited about this appointment and look forward to working with all stakeholders in pushing the limits on capability and achieving more.”

Legit.ng earlier reported that following the dissolution of the governing councils of five universities in Nigeria, President Buhari appointed a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Oyegun, as one of the bosses of the boards.

Channels TV reported that while Oyegun was named the chairman of the University of Ibadan governing council, a former senator from Ogun state, Lanre Tejuosho, is to head that of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Other universities are; Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife in Osun state, University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) in Rivers state, and Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko in Delta state.
