“Remember how letters had been sent to previous Yoruba sons like the late Dele Giwa” – Igboho snubs IGP Invitation letter: After the Yoruba rights activist Sunday Igboho turned down invitation letters by the Inspector General Of Police (IGP), Igboho has come out to reveal his reason for not accepting the invitations.

According to the report on TheNation, Igboho said he refused to accept the invitations because of security reasons.

Igboho maintained that if the IG of police wants to invite him, he should first send the same letter to all the bandits and Boko Haram members that are kidnapping and killing innocent Nigerians. Or better make a public statement addressed to Chief Sunday Igboho about the purpose of the invitations.

In his last statement, Igboho said “We should all remember how letters had been sent to previous Yoruba sons like the late Dele Giwa.”

Recall that reports had it earlier that the Inspector General Of Police, Mohammed Adamu had sent invitation letters to Sunday Igboho.

According to a statement by his media aide, Olayomi Koiki, the letters were sent on Thursday to him via a courier service. While another invitation was sent through about 6 police officers who were on mufti and another 9 officers in police uniform.

But I think it would have been wise for Ignoho to honour the invitation since they were official invitations.

I believe the police won’t mean any harm for him by just inviting him; because if there was any harm meant for him, I think the police would have arrested him as they still have the power to arrest him anywhere he is.

What’s your take on this?
Do you think it is wise for Ignoho to honour the IGP’s invitations?
